I might be sick and sore, and have a huge blister on the achilles of my foot (from a new pair of cas shoes) but after talking about going for a run for a whole week I finally pulled myself out of this chair and onto the roads.
Additionally I also wrote a poem on my run (which I may or may not post), and went shopping last night for supplies for Sunday's run (band aids, vaseline, gu's, etc.).
Tuesday night, I set out to run east down the river a little bit, across the river to the Tan, through the Tan to Albert Park Lake, around it and then home again in some random roundabout way.
This never eventuated....
After hitting the track that runs alongside the river, I didn't have the physical or mental strength to change direction and so I just kept running forward.
After an hour of running at an avg. heart rate of 138bpm, I was starting to tire and had no idea where I was. So i took the next stairs up to the main roads and found myself on Victoria St. Simple i ran home fairly directly from here at an avg. HR of 148bpm, and so knocked up the most painful 16km that I can remember.
However....
this is a run (a circuit) that we will have to hit up in the near future. I think that from my house, following the river to Alexandra Parade, past Joe's place and then down (say) Rathdowne St would be about 35-40km.
The river is a pleasant run :)
